Pizza Bowls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hot Italian sausage links, casing removed (Jenni-O)
  • 1 Tbls. olive oil
  • 1/2 small onion sliced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. pepper
  • 1/2 t. oregano
  • 1/2 t. dried Rosemary
  • 1 c. pizza sauce (Pastorelli)
  • 1/4 c. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 c. bell peppers, diced
  • 1 c. mozzarella cheese
  • 1 c. cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c. pepperoni (uncured)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Grease four, 2-cup ramekins or oven safe bowls and set aside.

In a non-stick fry pan, add olive oil, sausage and onion; break sausage apart and cook until no longer pink.

Add garlic, salt, and pepper and cook for 1-2 minutes more. Stir in the oregano and rosemary. Remove the pan from the heat.

Distribute the meat mixture evenly among the four ramekins or bowls.

Add 1/4 cup of pizza sauce on top of each one, followed by the cheddar cheese, mushrooms and peppers. Then add the remaining mozzarella cheese. Top with the pepperoni slices.

Bake the pizza bowls for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden around the edges.

Remove the pizza bowls from the oven and let them cool for a minute before serving.
