Rub: Sweet Dry Rub for Pork or Chicken

Perfect combination of flavors.
For an extra “kick” see Note section below.

Ingredients
  • ¼ c. dark brown sugar

  • 1 Tbls. coarse sea salt

  • 2 t. black pepper

  • 2 t. paprika (or smoked paprika)

  • 2 t. garlic powder

  • 2 t. onion powder

  • 1 t. dry mustard

  • 1/2 t. cayenne pepper, optional

Instructions

Mix all ingredients together.

Press dry rub onto pork or chicken, coating all sides.

Place on a platter, cover with saran wrap and refrigerate for several hours or all day before cooking.

Grill or bake accordingly.

NOTE: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use. For an extra “kick” use smoked paprika instead of regular and 1/2 t. cayenne pepper.
