Nice change from potatoes or rice
You can use any cheese instead of Gouda.
Leftovers have the consistency of mashed potatoes.
2-1/2 c. chicken broth
1-1/2 c. milk
sea salt, to taste (or smoked sea salt)
white pepper, to taste
3/4 c. uncooked grits (regular or quick-cook)
3/4 c. smoked gouda cheese, shredded
4 Tbls. butter
Bring broth, milk and seasonings to a boil and stir in grits.
Reduce heat and simmer according to package directions.
Add cheese and butter.
Stir until melted and the consistency is to your liking.
