If you love chocolate and peanut butter, you will love this!
Just like eating dessert for breakfast, only with health benefits.
Overnight oats are a popular breakfast in Switzerland.
They were created by Dr. Maximillian Bircher for his patients in Zurich because it helps to slow digestion and feel fuller, longer.
1 c. rolled or old fashioned oats (not instant or quick cook)
3 Tbls. cocoa powder
1 Tbls. chia seeds
pinch of salt
2 Tbls. all-natural peanut butter (Jiff or Skippy)
1-1/4 c. unsweetened almond milk (regular milk is fine)
1 Tbls. honey or maple syrup
1 t. vanilla
mini chocolate chips
sliced almonds
banana slices
Place all ingredients into a medium bowl or mason jar; mix until combined.
Seal tightly and place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
When ready to eat, top with a few mini chocolate chips and/or banana slices, if desired. You can also add a dollop of peanut butter, but it really doesn’t need it. Personal preference.
