1 c. water
Rind of 2 lemons, scrubbed and cut into pieces
1 c. sugar
4 cups water
1 c. fresh lemon juice (4-5 lemons; use the rinds of 2)
Mix sugar, 1 cup of water and lemon rinds in a small saucepan. Heat to a boil and simmer until the sugar dissolves (about 5-6 minutes). Cool and strain.
Mix the syrup, 4 cups of water and lemon juice. Refrigerate. To serve, pour over ice and add a lemon slice.
