2 lbs. ground ham (see Note below)
1 lb. ground round beef
small onion, chopped fine
2 eggs
1 c. soft bread crumbs (2 slices in mini food processor) or 3/4 c. dry store bought bread crumbs
1 c. milk
1/4 t. pepper
1 t. salt
1/4 c. water
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. cider vinegar
1-1/2 t. dry mustard
juice of half a lemon
Mix ham, ground round beef, onion, eggs, bread crumbs, milk, salt and pepper. Divide mixture equally and place in 2 greased loaf pans.
You can freeze one loaf if you'd like and bake another day (freeze in a foil loaf pan).
Mix sauce ingredients and pour over each loaf, dividing accordingly.
Bake at 350° for 1-1/2 hours. Pour off fat and slice.
