12 oz. pkg. fettuccine noodles
1-1/2 c. chopped fresh or frozen broccoli
4-1/2 Tbls. butter
1/2 t. garlic powder
1 Tbls. plus 2 t. flour
1 c. milk (or half & half)
1/3 c. fresh Parmesan cheese, grated
Cook fettuccine according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, cook broccoli in a small amount of water (about 5 minutes), or steam in microwave (add 1-2 Tbls. water) a couple minutes, until crisp-tender then drain.
When noodles are half done cooking, start sauce.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter; stir in flour and garlic powder until smooth.
Gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan cheese.
Drain fettuccine and put in a large pasta bowl; top with broccoli and sauce, toss to coat.
